But are those 5 hours great? That is the real question.
Agreed Soda.
Without a doubt. It looks like a more focused GTA4, which is fine by me.
Definitely getting Red Dead (need SOME online game to play after Modern Glitchfest 2) and Lost Planet 2 (splitscreen fun).
Sadly, they won't change. Why?
Because 2.5 million consumers just proved Activision right last week with that mappack. Whine all you want... until you start voting with your $$$$, things will not change. Period.
Maybe they shouldn't have fired the guys leading the project then? Just a thought.
The game is what it is, and it's good because of what's in it, not because of what some random person on a website says about it.
Don't be a sheep =)
I'm not a fan of the art style at all. But I'd like to see how this turns out (and oddly enough, Vanquish!)
Yes they will. They'll just turn it around and point fingers at "other games that do it as well."
Videogames are ABOUT visual trickery... I don't get why it becomes a pissing match every single time the hyperbole of "best looking game ever?" gets tossed about!
Well this thread became one big pissing match, kind of sad. Hopefully though some people learned WHY developers do this for the good of the experience and to keep the quality of their titles high and polished.
MGS4 only does it on the Volta actually. The rest are done in realtime (costume changes are a clear give away).
"Isnt FFXIII filled with CGI movies, ie much higher poly count models and environs? "
Yes, but the polycounts and effects dont matter as those were done on a more powerful rig then dumped to video. They probably also played out at 1 frame per second until they were cut together as a movie file. Those higher quality assets don't need to exist on the game disc.
"CGI" lately denotes content done on a more powerful rendering machine, such as say, the ...
Fishy, video is video. The quality of assets used within that video is irrelevant to the file size in the end. Just FYI man.
Many devs are turning to using ingame assets/engine vid caps to show off what their engine can do at a stable framerate, and also because ingame visuals these days (UC2 for example) look freaking great already.
I don't get what the disagree is for. The file size is based on the codecs, not the content.
I don't know why people are upset with this, many games do this. GoW3 does it for a couple of the utterly insane scenes as well.
Here's a little tip... if there's no rumble on the controller, it's probably a video file.
No one should be disappointed/upset by this, but I expect the usual BS in here.
+Bub Fishy. Humor isn't allowed in gaming.
Best not to mock Snake's cardboard box hiding either.
Yup. Logic be damned. You're a fanboy for saying anything.
Good ole N4G.
I don't disagree... but it feels like the U3 engine has hit a wall first.
$15 map pack.
$100 game split into 3 titles.
Thanks Acti!
I don't hate the Unreal engine, it has just been surpassed and feels like its become stagnant. It needs a boost. It's the industry wide reliance on it that I feel holds back a few titles, making many of them look kind of samey and plastic. However, when it shines, like in Arkham or Gears 2, it's great!
I too would love to see them drop a new title. Sadly, regardless of what they show, since its Epic, this site will be a zoo come Monday.
It won't hinder my purchase right now, but the tacking on of MP doesn't really make it okay to me, in ANY title. Why are you alright with it?
